Ways to Retreat with Us

Every Rooted Retreat is intentionally designed to regulate the nervous system through movement, sound, breath, and environment. Each element draws on neuroscience and somatic research showing how mindful experiences restore balance between body and brain.

Whether you join one of our monthly Rooted Day Retreats or curate a private gathering, each experience follows a natural rhythm—activation, reflection, and integration. This sequence mirrors how the body transitions from alertness to restoration, allowing deeper relaxation and emotional reset.

Our retreats combine evidence-supported practices such as rhythmic movement to enhance proprioception, breathwork to optimize vagal tone, and sound immersion to synchronize brainwave activity. These tools engage the body’s innate capacity to shift out of stress states and return to physiological coherence.

Retreats can be hosted on-site at Rooted Yoga Studio & Retreat Center (Harvest Hills Ranch) or off-site at your chosen location, bringing the same intentional flow to any space where your group gathers.

Sound Immersion

Step into a full-spectrum sound immersion designed to restore balance through the physics of frequency and vibration. During this session, you’ll experience the resonance of fourteen precision-tuned crystal singing bowls—including those calibrated to 432 Hz and the Solfeggio frequency spectrum—each interacting with the body’s natural biofield and cellular rhythms.

Research in acoustics and neuroscience shows that these frequencies can influence brainwave patterns, guiding the mind from alert states into deep parasympathetic calm. As the body relaxes, breath, heart rate, and muscle tension begin to synchronize—a measurable state of coherence linked with improved emotional regulation and stress recovery.

The addition of hand-hammered Tibetan bowls and ancient tonal instruments introduces complex harmonic overtones that create subtle vibration throughout fluid and fascia, encouraging circulation and lymphatic flow. These layered frequencies help the nervous system release stored tension, promote balance between hemispheric brain activity, and reestablish resonance between body and mind.

✨ Each tone works as a physiological reset—supporting integration, emotional steadiness, and deep restorative rest.

Mindful Walking Experience

Step onto the land for a guided walking practice that integrates breath, rhythm, and reflection to support nervous system regulation. This experience draws on principles of mindfulness and somatic awareness—shown in research to reduce cortisol, improve heart rate variability, and restore clarity of thought.

You’ll move through a sequence of intentional prompts that engage all the senses—sight, sound, touch, and breath—helping the brain shift from external stimulation to present-moment awareness. As the body synchronizes with a slower pace, proprioceptive and vagal pathways activate, allowing stress responses to ease naturally.

Between sections, moments of quiet give space for integration, while journaling reflections at the end engage higher cognitive centers tied to self-compassion and emotional balance.

Through this structured blend of movement, sensory focus, and stillness, the body reenters coherence—supporting clarity, grounded energy, and the physiology of self-care.

Nourishing Farm-to-Table Lunch & Snack/Drink Bar

Prepared by Leah Hill, co-owner of Harvest Hills Ranch, your midday meal is built on the science of nutrient density—featuring pasture-raised meats, seasonal produce, and regenerative ingredients that replenish energy at a cellular level. Each item is sourced directly from the land, connecting you to the soil microbiome and living nutrients that support immune and metabolic balance.

Throughout the day, you’ll have access to a thoughtfully curated snack and drink bar offering herbal teas, Rooted cold brew coffee, mineral-rich infused waters, and wholesome organic bites to keep your body fueled and steady between sessions.

✨ Every meal is free from refined sugars and synthetic additives—sweetness comes naturally from fruit, vegetables, and the land itself. Each bite reflects intentional nourishment from a living, regenerative ecosystem, raised by the hands that steward both the soil and your restoration.

Intention-Themed Restorative Flow

Each retreat begins with an intention-themed, somatically guided movement experience—rooted in your group’s chosen focus, such as grounding, release, renewal, or authentic self-expression.

This session includes just three to four slow, intentional movements, all practiced either on the floor or in a supported seated position. These gentle sequences are designed to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, enhance proprioceptive awareness, and calm muscular and neural tension.

By pairing movement with controlled breath and sensory focus, the body shifts out of stress response and into regulation—supporting improved circulation, lowered heart rate, and greater emotional stability.

Rather than performance, the emphasis is internal: feeling, sensing, and reconnecting with the body’s own rhythm of rest and restoration.

✨ A grounded, accessible flow designed to restore physiological balance and deepen alignment between body, breath, and intention.

Tree Grounding

A simple outdoor breath and grounding experience designed to recalibrate the nervous system and restore internal balance. By combining controlled breathing with physical connection to the earth, this practice supports vagal tone, stabilizes heart rate, and reduces physiological markers of stress.

Standing or seated beneath the trees, participants engage in slow rhythmic breathing and gentle awareness exercises that enhance proprioception and calm neural pathways. These techniques help shift the body from sympathetic activation (stress) into parasympathetic regulation (rest and recovery).

✨ A restorative reset that teaches you practical, evidence-based tools to release tension, reconnect with presence, and carry grounded calm into everyday life.

Visualization Session

This immersive session engages the imaginative centers of the brain—areas often underused in daily life—allowing the analytical mind to rest and reset. Visualization activates neural pathways linked to creativity, intuition, and emotional integration, while quieting the prefrontal regions responsible for overthinking and stress regulation.

Guided breath anchors the body into parasympathetic calm as you’re led through a themed sensory journey woven with voice, sound, and imagery. Research shows that this form of mental rehearsal and visualization can synchronize hemispheric brain activity, enhance emotional processing, and support cognitive clarity.

✨ A restorative experience designed to dissolve mental noise, awaken insight, and create space for intuitive awareness to emerge.

Fire Release

This exercise uses the principles of cognitive off-loading and sensory regulation to help the brain process and release stored stress. Writing down what you want to let go of activates regions of the prefrontal cortex responsible for emotional labeling and problem-solving, which allows the nervous system to move out of repetitive stress loops.

You’ll write what you’re releasing on one side of a small page and what you’re welcoming on the other. Folding and placing the paper into the fire provides a visual cue of completion, signaling to the brain that the cycle is resolved. The warmth, light, and subtle aroma from the burning wood engage multiple senses, reinforcing calm through parasympathetic activation.

✨ A practical, research-supported method for emotional reset and mental clarity.

Self-Assessment Quiz

This guided self-assessment combines elements of reflective psychology and bio-resonance principles to help you better understand your current emotional and physiological state. By bringing awareness to thought patterns, tension points, and stress responses, the process activates neural pathways tied to self-regulation and clarity.

After completing the assessment, individualized sound frequencies are introduced to engage the body’s sensory and auditory systems. These targeted vibrations help calm the nervous system, support balance between brain hemispheres, and promote measurable relaxation responses.

This offering can stand alone or be integrated into private retreats and individual sessions focused on stress recovery and emotional regulation.

Sensory Deprivation & Neuro Reset: Sip & Receive

This slow, sensory-rest experience is designed to calm the nervous system and restore body awareness through mindful presence. Guided sipping engages interception—the body’s ability to sense internal signals such as breath, heartbeat, and emotion—helping shift neural activity from mental processing to embodied awareness.

As soft music and stillness reduce external stimulation, the brain transitions from beta (active) to alpha and theta (restorative) wave states, supporting regulation, digestion, and relaxation. The simple act of drinking with intention activates parasympathetic pathways that promote grounding and emotional steadiness.
✨ A science-based pause for recalibration—where presence, not performance, becomes the practice.
